EAT AT OAK.

CASEY AND I STARTED OUT SUMMER 2014 IN THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE! HE SURPRISED ME WITH TICKETS TO GO SEE MY FAVORITE ARTIST, LANA DEL REY. THE CONCERT WAS HELD AT THE STUNNING RED ROCKS AMPHITHEATER IN DENVER, COLORADO. AFTER SEVERAL LONG MONTHS OF ANTICIPATION, WE PACKED OUR BAGS AND BEGAN OUR 4 DAY GETAWAY TO THIS BEAUTIFUL CITY. WHEN WE TRAVEL WE LOVE TO EXPLORE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, SO THE DAY BEFORE THE CONCERT WE DECIDED TO DRIVE INTO BOULDER, CO. IT WAS IN THIS RUSTIC HIPPIE TOWN THAT WE FOUND ONE OF OUR NEW FAVORITE RESTAURANTS… OAK.

YOU KNOW YOU'VE FOUND A GREAT RESTAURANT WHEN LITERALLY EVERYTHING OFF THEIR SEASONALLY INSPIRED MENU SOUNDS PERFECT. WE BEGAN THE EVENING WITH SOME REFRESHING HAND CRAFTED COCKTAILS AND SEVERAL STARTER PLATES. THEN WE MOVED RIGHT INTO OUR DELICIOUS ENTREES, ALL WHICH UTILIZE LOCALLY GROWN INGREDIENTS. MY FAVORITE DISH OF THE NIGHT WAS EASILY THE HANDMADE LOBSTER GNOCCI. I HONESTLY CONTEMPLATED ORDERING TWO. BY THIS POINT WE WERE BOYOND SATISFIED, BUT THE DESSERT MENU LOOKED TOO DELICIOUS TO PASS UP. WE ENDED THIS PERFECT MEAL BY TASTING 3 OUT OF THE 5 DESSERTS THEY OFFERED.  THE CLASSIC ROOT BEER FLOAT WAS OUR FAVORITE, COMBINING IN HOUSE BREWED ROOT BEER AND LOCALLY CHURNED ICE CREAM. 

BELOW ARE A FEW IMAGES I TOOK THROUGHOUT OUR MEAL. SORRY I COULDN'T CAPTURE EACH DISH WE ORDERED, I WAS TOO BUSY EATING :) HOWEVER, I DID MADE SURE TO GET OUR FAVORITES.









I SERIOUSLY CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS PLACE. THE AMBIANCE AND SERVICE WAS AMAZING, AND THE FOOD WAS THAT MUCH BETTER. IT'S NO MYSTERY WHY OAK ON FOURTEENTH IS RANKED #8 OUT OF 497 RESTAURANTS IN BOULDER.
